RE: Good Sam ERS...........NO HELP

I got a call back from GS today. The lady told me....."what did you expect...the nearest provider was 200 miles away".........I told her that not to expect me to renew....she said......"have a nice day"...
I think I was talking to someone in India ???????????
Some of you may have good luck with GS...but I sure as hell won't renew with them.........

RE: Good Sam ERS...........NO HELP

My reply would be......Good Sam should tell you when subscribing that they do not have total coverage in all areas of the country so you can decide if you want to pay for it or not. I am sure that they have given good service to many people but, if you need them and they can't find a provider of the service you need in the area you are at, what value is that to me ?

Good Sam ERS...........NO HELP

Having been a member of Good Sam for the past 20 years and also subscribing to their Emergency Road Service, I finally had the need to call them this past weekend for the first time for help with a tire problem.
Upon contacting Good Sam, my wife was put on hold while Good Sam located a provider. After a 2 hour wait with no call back I was able to get help from the RV Resort and a fellow camper and fixed the problem which allowed me to drive the rig home. After getting on the road home, my wife called Good Sam again to cancel the help request.
On Monday, Sept. 8th, I called Good Sam ERS customer service to complain about NO SERVICE......I was told that Good Sam is still working on a service network so all areas would be covered in the future. Apparently just because you pay for a service does not mean you will receive it. The woman who took my call said that she was sorry I had this experience and hoped that it would be better next time.
There were 2 other campers at the RV Resort who also had Good Sam ERS and had never had the occasion to use it and were interested in how my problem was taken care of. Needless to say there will be at least 3 of us who will not be renewing Good Sam ERS when the time comes.

RE: Opinions wanted

We like ours a lot...especially the bathroom that you can turn around in..The only thing that bothered me were the factory shock absorbers. That problem was fixed by having new Koni shocks installed..A vastly improved ride now....

RE: Koni shocks for the Kodiak

They were the newest ones on the market....I don't recall the exact model. I know I paid a lot for them but I do not have the tools or the ability to install them myself. Anyway...it was worth it to improve the handling and ride.

RE: Koni shocks for the Kodiak

All 4 cost (in round figures) $1000.00 installed. I also had valve extenders put on the rear wheels.

RE: Side effects of Gentamicin antibiotic

For the type of infection I had, Gentamicin was the only one that could fight it..(at least that's what the Dr. said) My balance therapy is going well and my balance has already improved. Now I am on 2 oral antibiotic pills a day and the infection is gone..according to my last blood test.

RE: How Many Members Have Heart Disease?

Since 1990 (age 54) I have had an Aortic valve replaced (was leaking),both hips and one knee replaced. I am now 72 and looking at having the valve replaced again as this one is leaking slightly.
I still get to the gym 3 days a week as I have done for the past 50 years. I think being in good shape help me breeze through all these surgeries.
I figure with all these replacement parts I should be under warranty for another 10 or 15 years..!! :B

RE: Side effects of Gentamicin antibiotic

Thanks for the replies. So far the only problem I have from it is balance. I did get weekly blood tests while taking it to check kidney function and have no other symptoms......yet....!! I have been off of it for almost 2 months now but still have to take an oral antibiotic twice a day for the rest of my life apparently.
My wife says it effected my hearing also...but you know wives..:))

Side effects of Gentamicin antibiotic

Has anyone here had the pleasure of having to take the antibiotic Gentamicin for an infection ?
Having had to take it for 9 weeks a couple of months ago, I now have one of the side effects of it and that is a loss of balance. Apparently there is no cure for it and you just have to live with it.
I now am taking balance therapy and hopefully that will help somewhat.
I would like to hear from anyone who has taken this antibiotic and what they did to diminish the side effects of it.

RE: 2008 Jayco slide out problem

I got my MH to the dealer last week and after they adjusted the slide it now opens with no gaps. The service dept. said it was just an adjustment with the rails. Works good now. Took only one day along with the recall fix.

RE: Waxing

Last year when I purchased our MH...(being the lazy type) I opted for having the rig coated with a protectant that the dealer offered.
They coated the (top, sides, underneath and interior)with a sealant. It is guaranteed for 5 yrs to prevent chalking and fading of the graphics and to keep the carpet inside from staining. This cost about $1200.00.
After sitting outside all winter and spring, all it took to clean was a quick bath using a soft long handled brush, water and some good automobile wash. It sparkled like new when finished......:C
